Our College's Story
What began in 1996 with just four students and a single vision to make quality education accessible to all has grown into what we proudly call the Excellent Group of Institutions. Today, we nurture the aspirations of nearly 10,000 students across multiple streams, from foundational learning to pre-university and beyond.
Rooted in unwavering commitment, consistent hard work, and a belief in inclusive, bias-free education, Excellent has evolved from a humble science coaching center into a thriving academic ecosystem. Our campus's primary and high school education, PU science courses, Sainik and Navodaya coaching, and training for competitive exams, each branch shaped by the same values we started with.
A defining moment in our journey came in 2018, when one of our students secured 1st rank in both CET and NEET in Karnataka, a testament to what is possible when opportunity meets mentorship.
Our mission is as strong as ever: to uplift every learner, keep education affordable, and ensure no child is left behind. What started as a single classroom has become a canopy of learning, still growing, still grounded, and always Excellent at its core.

About Our Founder
Shri Basavaraj S. Koulagi began his journey in education as a dedicated teacher in Vijayapura in 1996. His passion for teaching and commitment to student success laid the foundation for a transformative educational movement in North Karnataka. Recognizing the challenges faced by local students who had to leave their hometown for quality education, he envisioned an institution that would provide world-class learning opportunities right in Vijayapura. This vision materialized with the establishment of Excellent PU College in 2015. Under his dynamic leadership, the Excellent Group of Institutions has grown exponentially, now serving over 7,000 students with a dedicated team of 700+ faculty and staff members.
